Face masks or coverings will NOT be compulsory for shop staff or workers. The new rules will apply only to members of the public entering the shop or store.

However it is recommended that staff coming directly face to face with customers should wear a face covering as a precaution.

You can refuse entry to a person failing to comply with the rule after 24th July and you can call the police to enforce this. Anyone disregarding the rules can be issued with a fine of up to £100.

Most responsible businesses have already installed protective screens, sanitising stations and distance and occupancy notices already. Stay safe.
