One year ago........

It's just over a year since I rashly agreed to take up the Secretary chair at SOMSR Global HQ (or the upstairs office at 4 Brown Lane, Leeds to be more precise).

Surprisingly after a bit of a shaky start I find myself enjoying the challenge. It's meant a number of new learning curves, website editing, BACS payments, blogging, tweeting and FB'ing. Not to mention being nice to our members on the phone and taking my turn at tea making for the rest of the office. It's been great to catch up with some old friends too.

However, hopefully now SOMSR is starting to feel like a genuine support organisation. We've lost a few members this year but we have also gained more new ones than we lost. Where a question has been asked we have done our best to answer, mostly successfully. Where a problem has occurred we have managed to solve it. We have direct links to Cutting Edge magazine so if you have a story to tell, please let us know and we will do our best to get it into print. Don't forget we have posters and aprons for sale and we can order customized Polo shirts for you.

Shortly we hope to update our insurance benefits through Oval insurers so watch this space.
